Spring Brunch
/Sunshine and daffodils filled my day today, reminding me of some of the many things I love about spring. This week we hosted some wonderful ladies in our lives for a Spring inspired brunch. Our big dream, one day is to host a long table in the middle of a field and host all of the amazing ladies in our lives to a delightful evening, but this week we had the pleasure of hosting six special women.
For me, this spring brunch idea came from a LONG winter and the desire to bring a little more sunshine into our grey days. Joanna Gaines from Magnolia Farms and her beloved show Fixer Upper inspires me with her gorgeous home renovations and interior styling. Her magazine, the Magnolia Journal issue 2 is stunning and the pages inside are even more beautiful. We wanted to inspire the ladies in our lives and create a beautiful spring spread.
With the help of my sister and some of our favourite companies, we created a beautiful and delicious brunch complete with fresh breads, croissants, cinnamon buns and apple licious pastries from Cobs Bread . We displayed the different varieties on an Acai serving board and beautiful Milk Glass Cake Plates. It is all about the details when putting together a brunch and the blush pink striped linen napkins and pastel coloured nail polishes from Essie were the perfect finishing touches.
Our friends were greeted with a glass of citrus infused water and the scent of some lovely soaps from L'Occitane and bubblegum from Pur Gum. The Bonne Merre Lemon Soap reminded me of spring with its fresh lemony scent and I loved the colour of the Bonne Mere Rose.
We teamed up with Celsia Floral, an adorable flower shop in Vancouver and worked with them to create some incredible floral pieces. We shared our vision and Celsia Floral completely outdid themselves with this gorgeous centrepiece! The tulips combined with garden roses and that beautiful white and navy anenome was incredible.
However, the show stopper for me was the three ring hanging floral wreaths. The wreaths Celsia Floral created completely transformed the place and added a whimsical feel to the brunch. This picture also captures the pink translucency of the hurricane vase as our centrepiece. This vase from Canfloyd was the perfect colour for spring and added a light pop of pink in the middle of our table!
Our guests were treated to Lindt's delicious chocolates including these gorgeous copper coloured, caramel Mini Eggs.
Each one of these ladies are important in my life. They ground me, they love me, they encourage me, they mother with me, they laugh with me and they inspire me to be a better mom, friend and sister every day.
Some days, it is wonderful to sit, sip and slow down for a few minutes in the morning. It gives us time to spend a special mommy and me moment doing something as simple as painting your nails together.
Really this brunch would never have come together if it weren't for this gem working with me. I love creating with her and at the same time doing life together. Our dresses are from Pink Blush Maternity and we loved how the ombre and florals were the perfect tie in for spring.
