Merry & Bright
/Our Merry & Bright party helped kick-start our Christmas festivities this season! Not only do I love a good Christmas party but I also love a night out with ladies so this was the perfect mid-week soiree.
As women, we have so much to offer each other, whether it's wisdom, guidance, sharing in our pain or joy and just simply loving on each other. I love this group of women because some of us are moms, some of us are married, some of us are single, some of us are students, but we are all in need of community and love. This night was filled with laughter, eating, sharing, more laughter and a little Christmas trivia (was it 10 Lords a leaping? or nine ladies dancing). These ladies all speak into our lives and we are honoured to have them a part of our personal journey as a wife, mother and friend. So for me, the idea of throwing a party, planning the details and decorating the house, for me, that's just the icing on the cake!
Brie and Kendra helped us throw the finishing touches on decor and food prep, not sure how we even pull these things off without them ;)
When I think of "Merry and Bright", red and white pop into my mind. However, we partnered with Talking Tables and they loved our vision of a Nordic colour palette of gold and whites with pops of fresh greenery and neutral elements! Talking Tables always makes our vision come to life and we love that they are a one stop shop for all things party! Some of my favourites were the wooden illuminated star, snowflake tea light holders, Nordic paper plates and napkins, gold star table scatter and that incredible Lightbox!
These gorgeous belly baskets from Drifter added a wonderful texture and warmth to the party. They are perfect for holding extra blankets for people, hiding children's toys or even potting your Christmas tree - an amazing idea our friend Rachel came up with!
Beast & Brine, another amazing local company had charcuterie boards that served as our main food for the evening and we barely made a dent! These are perfect if you are throwing a party because those wood platters were seriously loaded with the most wonderful cheeses and meats you ever did taste. Everything tasted so fresh and scrumptious!
We wanted to add a warm drink bar and Murchies sent us a gorgeous array of teas and hot chocolate. The Peppermint tea and English Breakfast were my personal favourite. However, the hot chocolate was so smooth and sweet it was hard to pass up a mug with whip cream and sprinkles on top!
Candy Meister is a German company that makes amazing candies that are made with natural ingredients. We picked a few packs of their raspberry and green apple flavours and added them to our dessert table. The best things about them? They are all natural, non-GMO, corn syrup free, gluten free and dairy free!
La Croix is a flavoured sparkling water that we first discovered while on Whole30 (a talk for another time). They have a very subtle hint of flavour but if you love sparkling water its the perfect refreshing drink with a touch of taste.
One of our favourite additions were these beautiful glass hand made terrariums. When we begin planning these parties we always dream big! A lot of our dreams don't end up happening, but this one did. The owners of Sparks and Specs (a husband and wife duo) make these beautiful hand made custom pieces for your home. The two Geomteric Tumbler Terraniums added a perfect warmth and decorative touch to our decor. We put a small candle in ours and the light was stunning.
These evenings are perfect for unwinding and relaxing with a few girlfriends. We had some comfy pillows from Society 6 and they doubled as decor for our holiday party. I love being able to switch out pillows in different seasons and Society 6 has a lot of designs to choose from.
Thanks for such a fun evening of community filled with stories and laugher ladies!
