Easter Basket Ideas
/Hey friends! Easter is this weekend and as a parent, we always want to make sure our kiddo's Easter basket is not only fun, but also meaningful. We all love the traditional basket filled with treats and goodies, but there are plenty of unique ways to make it extra special. We're going to share some creative ideas for Easter baskets that your child will love including treats, books, activities, pj’s and even sunscreen for beach days ahead.
Book lovers unite! Our Easter baskets will definitely have a book or two in them and we love including spring themed ones like these ones from Manda Group. Even at the end of a longer day, I absolutely love bringing all my kids together and reading a few books before bedtime and when I gift a few new titles my kids are always over the moon. Manda Group carries such a variety of fiction and non-fiction books and we can browse for days for wonderful stories for our kiddos. The illustrations in Slow Down and Be Here Now are gorgeous and the perfect book for spring or to bring with you as you explore a park or pond. In the Pond and Peekaboo Animals are two board books that are a sweet, interactive read, perfect for ages 2-4.
Rayne is wearing these striped pajamas from Pehr that are made from the softest organic cotton which will be perfect for warmer nights that are coming. Pehr’s clothing and swaddles are made with incredible quality fabric with the most adorable prints and we love to include them in our kids baskets.
Also from Pehr is this beautiful pom pom bin (Pictured below) that we love to double as an Easter basket! As moms, we love helping our children find easy places to organize and put away their toys and Pehr storage baskets are beautiful and practical.
Our earliest memories of Easter (Christmas too) has always revolved around Purdy’s Chocolate and it continues to be our go-to choice for chocolate. These pastel coloured eggs, bunnies and gift sets are gorgeous for Easter and we are looking forward to hiding some of the Foiled Mini Eggs and Foiled Mini Bunnies for our kids on Sunday morning. Purdy’s also has an Easter basket and Hiding Bunnies Tin (pictured: bottom left and bottom right) that would make an excellent hostess gift if you are heading somewhere for dinner this weekend. However our favourite item, whether it is Easter, Christmas or just another Tuesday is the Sweet Georgia Browns!
As moms, we always try to give learning or educational games/activies to our kids in each Easter Basket.. Kanoodle Games from Educational Insights are the favourite activity in our house right now. Each game comes with hundreds of different challenges for your brain to stack, twist and arrange the shapes to fit. It is perfect for children and adults! There are different varieties for kids ages 7 and up such as Kanoodle Original, Kanoodle Pyramid and Kanoodle Jr (perfect for younger children ages 4-7). The games are compact and stored easily making it the perfect traveling companion as well. For children who like to build, the Design and Drill activity helps strengthen fine motor skills while allowing children to make creative pictures and shapes.
Usborne has been a source for engaging and educational books for over 50 years and we are happy to include a few titles in our baskets this year. They have great books for children to read independently, read together with mom or dad, as well as pack for a day of travel this Spring. In addition to reader books they also carry sticker books, puzzles and colouring books. The First Sticker Book 123 is excellent for preschool aged children. The bigger size stickers make it easier for their little fingers to use. However if you have older children any of the other sticker or puzzle books such as Look and Find Puzzles Dogs and Cats, Sticker Dolly Dressing Easter or Sticker Dolly Dressing Ballet Fairies would be an excellent on the go activity for spring. If you have older children who love learning about nature and how things work, Volcanoes and Earthquakes or How Do Flowers Grow? are excellent interactive book with interesting facts and beautiful illustrations.
We wake up and hope for sunshine on the regular here and we cannot wait for beach days to arrive and sprinkler fun in the backyard. We love to include sunscreen in our kids baskets at Easter and Sun bum is always our go to because of their ingredients and how it applies on to our skin. Sun Bum is easily our favourite sunscreen and our whole family uses it. Some of my kids love the lotion and others enjoy the spray a little more so there is something for everyone, including their 100% mineral sunscreen.
Bendon carries all sorts of activity books, sticker pages, and mess free marker books that are the perfect gift in an Easter basket if you are looking for ideas that don’t involve more sugar. We love adding different character themed sticker or colouring books to our kids Easter basket which they usually want to open and work on right away! Bendon also has these Easter themed game tins that are sold in Walmart that we will love to take out on the go this Spring.
Moose Toys is rounding up our blogpost today with a variety of toys that can fill a child’s easter basket while encouraging pretend play. They carry a few different Little Live Pets that I know my kids will love to pretend to take care of such as the Mama Surprise Guinea Pigs, Light Up Birds, and Bright Light Chameleon. Moose Toys carries many brands such as Akedo Powerstorm that come in packs and even has their own battle arena, which makes a great gift for those that love battling.
We hope all these ideas help inspire you as you celebrate Easter this weekend and love on your kids.
