Teacher Appreciation

It is easy to talk about how much we appreciate the teachers in our children’s lives and the love and care they show to them as they help grow their education. We know so many teachers who are amazing individuals and go above and beyond in their job. Chelsea and I are both teachers as well, albeit in slightly different roles, and we know what it takes to provide a high level of education to our students. That’s why we have partnered with a few different companies that we love to help give a little basket of gifts to the teachers in our lives as a thank you for all that they do.

We love a good colour themed basket and the Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP stands out as our favourite popcorn out there. Angie’s carries many flavours that are all delicious and this open and go snack is a perfect gift idea for a teacher who might be hard to buy for as almost everyone loves a great bag of popcorn! Our favourite flavours from Angie’s are the classics such as Sea Salt, Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn and Light Kettle Corn, plus the gorgeous colours make them the perfect pop of color for any gift.

I have tried a ton of scrunchies and nothing beats Chelsea King for my hair. In addition to scrunchies, Chelsea King offers so many different accessories from hair claws to scarves, hair ties to combs, and so many other items that are handmade in Canada and France. A great hair accessory such as a scrunchie is crucial to have on hand as teachers when you need to quickly put your hair up to help with an art activity or join in on a lunch game of soccer with the grade 3 students and Chelsea King ones give the best hold.

It may seem like teachers already have enough pens but there is nothing that compares to a Pilot Pen. A beautiful pen that smoothly write is every teacher’s dream and I can personally attest to the fact that this is such a good gift idea for anyone who works in Education. Pilot Pens are in a league of their own when it comes to writing instruments which makes them one of the best contribution to a teacher gift this June.

A 2pm candy hit is not a bad way to get you through to the end of the school day sometimes and we found a company that makes delicious candy without the artificial sugar. Healthy Hippo makes sweet and sour candy that is plant-based and sweetened with a natural sugar: monkfruit! We often use monkfruit in baking and have come to love that it can add sweetness to something without adding the calories that an artificial sweetener has. Pick up a few of these naturally delicious candy bags for your favourite teacher this June!

David’s Tea is a favourite item for blessing our teachers. Some of our favourite all time flavours to add are Just Peachy and Pomegrateful Tea. Both of these flavours are delicious hot or iced. However, a fun and festive choice for someone if you aren’t sure which flavour is their favourite are the sachet wheels. The bright pop colours of the Fresh and Fruity Sachet wheel features flavours such as Blood Orange Boost, Dragonfruit Aloe, Just beet it, Just Peachy and many more. Perfect for summer! An innovative item distributed by Crestar is the Funny Mat. These mats have pictures of different themes such as the rainforest, safari, ocean and North Pole. The mats can be coloured with chalk, chalk markers or washable wax crayons. The best part is after you are finished, you can wash it and re use it! It a limitless colour sheet. As teachers, the maps of Canada and the United States are perfect for student learning and your whole class can enjoy.

An appreciation basket wouldn’t be complete without our favourite treats from Purdys. What we love about Purdys is that they always have wonderful theme gifts for holidays and special occasions and they always remember the teachers. The End of Year Stash Kit is a funny and thoughtful gift to give any teacher. We love adding the single bars like Coffee Break and Mint Meltie to gift baskets. However, our favourite has always been Sweet Georgia Browns - it seems you can’t go wrong with chocolate, caramel and nuts! They are so delicious.

We wanted to give all the parents some ideas to help you thank the people that help in your child’s education. From education assistants, to music teachers, to our homeschool community class teacher, to our receptionist, and to every single classroom teacher we know that goes above and beyond to further the minds and hearts of our children, we just want to help say thank you.
