Love Baskets for Kids

LOVE DAY! It’s coming guys and we cannot pass up a reminder to spread a little love and joy to our kids and friends. Giving gifts is just the best and we rounded up a few ideas to give to your kids this Valentine’s Day. We are pretty low key when it comes to valentines day but giving educational gifts such as books, puzzles, small animals and a few treats, we are always in for giving all of the above!

Animal Toobs from Safari are a gift our kids love receiving. We use the animals for learning, sensory play, scene set ups and even bring them to the beach with us. A couple of their newer Toobs Trees and South American animals are perfect for helping children create their own animal habitat scene. You can buy them online or find them at local retailers such as Michaels.

These mini pom pom baskets from Pehr are perfect to use to make little love baskets for your kids and they can double as room decor to hold all of their favourite things. Did you know Pehr also makes clothing? Yep - Cruz is in their Essentials Romper and it is so soft you guys, like butter soft.

The canister on the far left is an adorable puzzle set from Moulin Roty. They have a few different themes such as Arctic, Forest and Ocean and each puzzle comes in its own canister. Each puzzle is 96 pieces which is a great size for children and the scenes are filled with beautiful creatures, scenery and landforms. A gift that encourages children to use their critical thinking skills! You can find these online or at local retailers such as Dilly Dally Kids (our favourite), Parade Organics Vancouver or Lagoon Baby Maple Ridge.

When Chelsea told me that she had found these gluten free oat bars from Bobo’s I was intrigued! You guys, they are DELICIOUS! These are Gluten and Soy Free, Vegan, and Non-GMO if any of those things interest you but I promise you that you will love these no matter what. I did say I would give them to my kids on Valentine’s Day but I will also be gifting some to myself as well. I love having these easy to grab snacks for on the go as well.

We have kids ranging from 9 months to 7 years old so we need a wide variety of books such as board books, short picture books, all the way up to first readers and longer story books. Penguin Random House carries a wide variety of books such as Baseball Baby, Love From the Crayons, A Pig A Fox and a Box, and Kick it Mo, How do Bunnies take a Bath, (to name just a few) and we know our kids will love all of these titles.

Raincoast Books is a constant go-to in our houses for all kids (and adult) books. They carry such a wide range of titles and for Valentine’s Day we picked up the next book in a favourite series, "Little Blue Truck’s Valentine” as well as a few other titles for our kiddos; Snoozapalooza, I Dig Being Kind, Tiny T. Rex and the Perfect Valentine, etc. They also carry puzzles that we are so excited to gift our kids, such as the Family Painted Safari 500 piece puzzle that Jake will just really enjoy!
