The rain is falling hard here this morning and it definitely feels like Fall. Rainy mornings make for the perfect craft days and we are delighted to share a new brand we are using that carries so many different activities and toys which would be perfect for a rainy day (or any day really)!

DJECO is a company based in France but there are many Canadian shops that carry their products including Indigo and Dilly Dally Kids.

Here are some of our favourite items we are using with our kids:

Firstly, often our older children have no problem drawing a picture on a blank piece of paper, or grabbing an activity to do by themselves. However, our younger children always want in on the action and DJECO has some amazing activities for those little hands.

Magic Colouring - Each set comes with 4 different pictures and a pen. You simply fill the pen with water and then colour on the pictures to reveal different pictures and colours. This is wonderful because there is very little mess and when the picture is dry, the colour disappears so you can reuse the pictures again.

Baby Blocks - This set of stackable blocks is adorable! The soft pastel colours and whimsical numbers and characters on the sides of the squares has a beautiful appeal. Children can stack the blocks, knock them down, put them in order, count the sides, etc. This would make a wonderful addition to a child’s nursery or playroom.

Lock handling Game - Toddlers always love opening every cupboard and drawer they can find and this lock handling game is perfect to engage their curiosity. There are three different locks that toddlers can open, develop their fine motor strength and explore what is behind the open door! We love that these are made of wood which makes them durable for those little hands.

Now for our older kids, although they do often jump in and help the little ones and often have just as much fun with the younger activities.

Step by Step - Kids love to draw, but sometimes they can become frustrated or daunted by drawing something that they think is too hard for them. These step by step drawing cards are incredible and they give simple instructions to children on how to draw different objects on their own. There is a vehicle/animal themed box as well as a princess/pond themed one as well. The box comes complete with a dry erase marker and a dry erase board, but children could also use a card and draw a picture on paper as well.

Do It Yourself - These might be our favourite kits as there are so many different ideas and themes that there truly is one for everyone. DJECO creates kits that contain all of the supplies and instructions for children to create their own Magic Wands, Animal Mosaic Masks and many other activities. As moms, it is nice to have everything ready to go for a an activity and you don’t have to go hunting all over the house for the one item you can’t seem to find. These would be perfect for birthday party crafts, rainy days or to do at a playdate with a friend.

Craft Kits - I think hands down, DJECO has created some of the cutest craft kits I’ve seen for kids. Mosaics would be a perfect kit for fall with the owl and squirrel. Children peel the mosaic circles and match them to the correct size to create a beautiful mosaic creature. The Felt Pictures are similar, however children are matching shapes and these would work well for younger hands as well. The creativity behind the kits is incredible and sometimes kids just need a quiet, creative activity in the middle of the day! We are excited to try the Origami Kits with our kids especially the polar animals during our Arctic unit in the winter. We love tying in our learning to our art and origami is a fun medium to explore with kids.

Imaginative Play

Little Rose’s Tea Party- A new wooden tea party set this year with an adorable pink, red and green rose print. The set even has little wooden tea bags and a cake with candles! Children would love to set up a tea party for their friends or their stuffed animals using this kit.

My Veterinarian Kit - The most adorable red little box, complete with a clasp that opens up to your very own veterinarian kit. Most of the tools are wooden, making them much more durable for child’s play. The kit comes filled with so many cute details such as a heartbeat book, stethoscope and even little bandages that would be perfect for fixing all of the stuffed animals.

Little Friends Magnetic Games - We love when activities can easily be stored. All of the shapes and pieces in this kit are magnetic and come in a closed kit making it easy to clean up and put away. Children can copy the cards to make faces and people or they can be creative and create their own! We love when toys can be doubled for endless play opportunities.

Stickers - These are the cutest sticker themes we have seen in awhile. Kinsley loves horses and they have a Horse themed sticker set! They also have a Let’s Go set, Little Wings Puffy Stickers (awesome for adding a 3D dimension to your drawings) and Baby Animals Toddler stickers which are a bit bigger so smaller hands can stick them on the paper. The 1000 Stickers for girls and boys come with a lot of different sheets so these would be perfect for a party, or a gift!

If we can say one thing about this brand it is that every item is made with excellent quality! We have done a lot of crafts and activity kits over the years and this brand is incredible. Their price point is also extremely affordable making them great for gifts, parties or rainy fall afternoons. We hope you love Djeco as much as we do!
