Easter Baskets for Kids

Easter is a big celebration in our homes as we celebrate with our family all that this weekend means for us. We know the importance of Easter and our time is full of family get-togethers, remembrance of the holiday, and traditions to help make memories! One tradition we keep is giving Easter baskets and it always brings a lot of joy to our kids. Our family does a scavenger hunt to find where I have hidden the baskets and my kids look forward to it every year.

We love a good sticker by number book or colouring book and Bendon Publishing always has such a variety with what feels like every character under the sun. Our kids are never too old for a colouring book or an Imagine Ink colouring pad - perfect for out at the park or in the car. Bendon’s products are affordable and we often find ourselves packing them for road trips, restaurants, car rides, airplane rides etc.

Do you have a history lover in your home? The 500 facts about World War II History for Kids from Raincoast is a great book that outlines all the details of World War II in an easy to read format with a few illustrations mixed in on each page - both of our boys will love this!
Raincoast has such a variety of items to choose from for Easter gifts for kids. We are including a few items in our Easter baskets this year such as some Kitten notecards, Crossword puzzle book, Usborne Sticker Dolly books, Would You Rather Questions for Kids, etc. I aways feel like an Easter basket is complete when you can find one specific book for each of your kids to put alongside a few chocolates and a small toy and Raincoast is a great place to find a great book.

Trust me, our kids love the chocolate, but they get just as excited about a new craft project or book to read in their basket. DJECO offers creative activities that are ready to go for all ages of children. For older children, the Workshop Fashion is a great option, where children can cut, embellish, and create clothes for their dolls. Or if your child loves art, the Inspired By collection brings children along a process of creating unique art pieces inspired by a famous artist such as Monet, Frida Kahlo, etc. If you have a cat lover, the DJECO watch cat has an adorable cat face with a pink band for telling time. For the littles, DJECO has beautiful role play wooden toys for imaginative play and the laundry set is adorable. You can find so many DJECO products at your local toy stores including Dilly Dally Kids, Mastermind Toys and on Amazon.

One of our Easter traditions is adding Easter chocolates from Purdys into our kids Easter baskets. There is something nostalgic for us about the purple foiled eggs hidden in the bottom. The quality of Purdys chocolates is outstanding and our kids love the chocolate bunny lolly’s on a stick. Purdys also makes easy Easter gifts to share with a neighbour or a friend such as the Easter Joy Tin, Bunny Bag or the Easter basket.

Next up is the Learn by Sticker series from Hachette Book Group that our 5 year olds love as it focuses on basic addition and subtraction or phonics while you are creating a picture from stickers. We love bringing these to a restaurant as we wait for food or to appointments, as they are mess free and easy to use.

The soft pastel colours of spring remind us of new life which we are excited to remember with our children this year! Happy Easter from both of us at Jane and Shelin :)
