Lake Retreat

For the past 27 years we have attended a family camp called Lake Retreat. I think doing anything for 27 years straight is down right commitment but we have so much pride and joy when we think of Lake Retreat. Our Sunday morning of camp always starts early as we travel down south to a small town in Washington to get away for a week of spiritual growth, physical activity, fun and fellowship.

We have some PRETTY early mornings here thanks to our kids sleeping in new surroundings but, come on, this view makes it so worth it.

Each day there is a time of worship and teaching for both the adults and children, meals, free time and a new family activity. Our water carnival has everyone on the dock with the blob, foxtrot, canoes, and diving boards all being put to good use. This place really has everything and we are always wishing it is two weeks long as the time always flies by!

During free time there are so many different opportunities for parents, families, single parents, kids or grandparents to do such as hiking trails, zipline, boating, shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball, tire swing, pickle ball, frisbee golf, mini golf, paintball, or simply sitting in a chair on the dock reading a book.

If you haven't seen our whole family yet - this is them! Jeremy and Sarah King were our honorary members this year in our annual gazebo photo. Note: not all kids are looking at the camera but at least you can see their eyes #halfwin

After the week, we always leave with many highlights; fun in the water, playing sports/games, and listening to some great teaching on what it means to live like Jesus. It really is a small slice of heaven as we are already looking forward to next year. Plus the bonus - we didn't make or clean up one meal all week! It truly is a family tradition that we feel blessed to be apart of. What are your "must-do summer family activities"? Send us a message or email janeandshelin@gmail.com if your family wants to know more about this camp!
