With back to school just around the corner we are curating a new fall book reading list for our kids. Our kids love keeping track of the books they read and we recently found some excellent new adventure stories and activity books that our kids will love. Kane Miller publishes many excellent choices for children and we are excited to share a few of our favourites.

Bear Grylls is known for its outdoor adventure skills and has written a series for children called Bear Grylls Adventures. The Jungle Challenge, The Blizzard Challenge, and the Volcano Challenge are short chapter books featuring the adventures of Bear Grylls with a kid. These exciting stories are a great read for children just starting to read chapter books. If you children like activity books, Bear Grylls also has an activity book series that invite children to learn about a specific creature type while doing crosswords, adding stickers, word puzzles, word scrambles etc. The Predators activity book and Reptiles and Amphibians are a hit for all animal lovers.

Our girls love creating scenes with stickers and we find sticker activity books are wonderful for traveling in the car or we even tear out one scene and set it up on the table as an invitation to create. The Big Stickers series are a great choice for smaller hands and offers beautiful scenes like a beach with stickers to make a magical picture. Inside the book there are a handful of activities throughout such as mazes and search and find. Our kids loved the Vacations book!

Our boys are both interested in learning about the USA. They love looking at maps, learning the different states and capitals, and of course the animals that live in the area. The Across the USA Activity book and Marvels of the USA are excellent choices to enhance their learning. The pages are colourful and engaging, providing a lot of information about landmarks, animals, and states in the USA.

With two of our children starting kindergarten this year we are always looking for simple activities we can set out and use that are inviting and also help strengthen their fine motor development. Learn to lace has lacing cards and laces built into the book for children to use. The pages are sturdy and beautiful, making it an excellent activity book for younger children. The Stained Glass series books have so many different themes to choose from such as Dinosaurs, Mermaids, Princesses etc. and the translucent pages are easy to color and transform into a beautiful stained glass piece. It is a great art activity for all ages. My Sticker World has so many different themes with over 500 stickers and 12 scenes to create. The Enchanted ocean theme is full of ocean animals, mermaids and even mermaid pirates. These stickers are smaller so they are perfect for bigger hands.
