Shoebox Media: No Prep Learning Fun!

We have all had to make difficult choices when it comes to schooling for our kids and some of you may not have even had a choice. This year Cairo is doing Kindergarten part-time and I’ve been surprised at how easy a transition it has been for both him and I.
I really thought that I would not like it when he was at school, that I would miss him too much, that I would prefer to homeschool him, but none of those have been true (well I do miss him a bit!).
He has loved going each day and I feel like it’s a tiny bit of a break for me - just having a few days where only 3 little ones need me. We have opted to do a bit of schooling on the days where he is home and it’s so encouraging to see the progress he is making at both school and home.
With 4 young kids, I really don’t spend any time “prepping” activities because well there just isn’t a ton of time. That’s why I’m SO thankful for companies like Shoebox Media who create educational and engaging activities that my kids can just pick up and do (with a bit of guidance because hey, they can’t read yet!).

Shoebox Media has a ton of stuff to pick from, including books! This Animals of the World book and My World Atlas have been fan favourites and we learn so much with each page. Reading books usually inspire us to research more about that particular animal or place we are learning and I just kind of roll with whatever my kids say they are interested in. This makes table activities really enjoyable because my kids have picked what they want to learn.

More often that not, my kids always ask to do their “Activity Books.” Shoebox Media has such a great variety for kids about 2-7 years and my kids sometimes sit and do one page or 10! My Big Kindergarten and Preschool Workbook is a new one we are trying out and we will share on our instastories what they look like inside.

Again, the variety is top-notch without being overbearing. They have wipeclean books, games and mazes (Cairo has a new love for mazes so this is right up his ally), and quite a few activity books to enjoy.

If you feel like you need some educational books and workbooks in your home we would really recommend Shoebox Media. As teachers and sisters, we want activities that are both engaging and fun and colourful for our kids and they just nail it with all of their stuff. Browse their website and see what sparks your kids’ interests! You can even find their items at your local Costco!
