Easter Basket Inspo

There is so much hope that comes with Easter. Hope that we cling to on the tougher days and hope that we get to celebrate as Easter approaches. We love making Easter BIG in our homes because it is such an important weekend, one that really resets our focus.
We ALWAYS do easter baskets or a few gifts, something our parents started with us and we love continuing this tradition to add to our celebration. We have a few awesome kids gifts we are adding to baskets this year including some amazing books, stuffed animals, games and the softest jammies!

Our girls just love stuffed animals and these ones from Gund will be the cutest little “surprise” on Easter morning. After snapping a few pics we tucked these away to save for Easter and thankfully our girls haven’t asked about them since. They are SO huggable and such a cozy, medium sized stuffed animal. If you go to their website there is just so many loveable ones to choose from!

Our girls haven’t taken these jammies off the past two nights (I will let them know that at some point they need to be washed) because they are crazy cozy. Our kids always reach for Kyte Baby jammies in their drawers because they are incredibly soft and fit like a glove. They have also been known to ask if they can wear them all day and sometimes I comply ;)
Kyte Baby’s spring line is top notch - hello Flamingos and Bubblegum colours, our girls are loving them! They also just came out with a botanical line that is adorable, plus our boys will be rocking their shortie set in black this Spring/Summer (you can see it on Cruz below).

A book is so easy to add into baskets and Zonderkidz offers so many inspiring and encouraging stories full of truth for Easter. We highly recommend Grow Candace Grow, Ten Little Eggs, Candace’s Playful Puppy, The Beginner's Bible, My animal friends, Jesus Storybook Colouring book, Twas the Morning of Easter, The Legend of the Easter Robin, and Beginner's Bible Come Celebrate Easter Book.
We always search Zonderkidz for new books that help us speak truth and hope into our kids!

The game Spot it (can you “spot it” up on that top shelf) is an awesome one for a wide variety of ages. Our little preschoolers play the game with their older siblings and makes for a great competitive game! The game comes in a small tin which makes it easy to store, pop into a backpack for travel or use in your home.

It sometimes feels like we cannot get enough books and you are right. We believe they are so just essential for encouraging children to develop their reading skills but also escape into a world of imagination. Literally the best way to teach your child to read is by reading to them and we have partnered with Penguin Random House to deliver more book titles that your family may love. We have read Berry’s Sweet Surprise to the girls and it is so adorable about caring/helping others. Some more titles we are eager to read are Uni Paints a Rainbow, The Tale of the Mandarin Duck, and a few Magic Tree House books.

EEBOO is an incredible company that creates so many unique, engaging and educational items for children. Puzzles are always an excellent option to strengthen chidlren’s fine motor abilities and Eeoboo creates so many beautiful styles and themes. A few of our favourite items from Eeboo recently are their educational games. As soon as I say “let’s play a game” my children are excited and they don’t even realize they are working on life and educational skills. The Time Telling time, Animal Memory and Matching, Simple Math Bingo and Create a Story Volcano cards are all incredible. We love companies that have a purpose behind their design and even their set of Conversation Cards are helpful to engage children in meaningful conversation and understanding different social settings.

Spinmaster carries a variety of awesome toy brands and we wanted to showcase these Hatchimals Colleggtibles because for Easter these are a fun surprise addition that isn’t normally something we would include but they are just so little and adorable. Each egg has beautiful, glittery wings attached, a little character inside, and 3 come in each pack so you can easily share amongst kids.

We are so excited to dive into these new titles from Hachette Book Group for Easter as our kids have been LOVING The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls books (you guys they are awesome!). We use these ones as read alouds and you may have seen us share about them before as they are a favourite in our homes. There are more great books we are eager to read with our kids such as; God is Hope, The Great Easter Egg Hunt, That Grand Easter Day, Bedtime Ballet, Hold on to your Music, and the Spirit Riding Free series.

Cruz gets happy over anything but these Egg-Speriments look so awesome! This could easily be done on a rainy afternoon as an engaging indoor activity or even worked into a homeschool curriculum to explore the science behind eggs! Griddly Games always carries so many interesting new games that we are always “game” for trying.

The Bean People have come out with Sprudels and Bath Beans that level up taking a bath these days.
What is a Sprudel, you ask?
A Bath Sprudel is a bath bomb for kids with a surprise sponge toy inside. They come in an awesome hexagonal individual package and we are excited to try these!
They also have Bath Beans which are these magical food-grade gelatin capsules that release two sponge toys when dropped into warm water. Come on, so cool and what an exceptional way to spice up bath time!

If you’ve followed us for a while you know we enjoy doing crafts with our kids. Kid Made Modern makes craft kits for all ages which make awesome birthday gifts, rainy day activities or in this case an addition to an Easter basket. Each kit has everything you need to create which makes life easier for moms. Our older kids have been enjoying the Comic Book Kit and Kid Made Modern creates refill Comic books to continually use. This is a great way to keep using a kit over and over. Our girls love making bracelets and necklaces and the I Heart Jewelery Making and Mermazing Jewelry Kit are adorable. We are also excited to try their My First Crafts Prompts Kit with our younger toddlers!

This is our best “boys” version of what we will include in our Easter baskets this year but all of these products are awesome for any kids. Our boys happen to be super passionate about hockey right now and all things related to that - including hockey cards. Upper Deck carries a significant variety of hockey cards in addition to other sports. A mini card pack in our boys’ basket this year will bring a whole lot of joy and hours of games as they schedule their own series by using their hockey cards and indoor “hockey rink.”

Rory’s Story Cubes and Just One Game are both excellent ideas for children of all ages. The Story cubes give children a variety of images and encourage them to create a story using the images. This would be awesome to develop imaginative writing or even as a game at a party for kids. Just One is a great family game that could be played with kids where everyone gives an one word clue to help someone guess a specific word.

We hope we can inspire you with these ideas as you celebrate Easter this weekend with your family!
